Coaches Corner – James Boone – Huntsville Recap
Our first out-of-state team trip was a big success! Aspire placed 8th out of 17 teams with just 12 swimmers. Our swimmers raced to 61 best times, dropping a total of nearly 5 minutes. Big drops in the 500 by Victoria and Goose, cutting 1:17 and 30 seconds respectively. Anderson and Molly tied for dropping in the most races, both getting 7 best times over the weekend.
8 of our swimmers secured 2nd swims in finals and 9 scored points for the team. Our leading scorer was Niko with 105 points followed closely by Delaina with 98 points. Both Niko and Delaina touched first in back-to-back 100 IM finals, and then Delaina took 1st in the 100 Breast as well. Other standout swims were Kate’s Mile where she swam 15 seconds under the state cut, Christian’s 200 Back where he dropped 8 seconds and added a 2nd event to his state lineup, Grace’s 50 fly getting in as an alternate and dropping another second from what was already a 2.5 second drop in the morning.
The coaches are excited to see how everyone on the team is progressing with outstanding swims in Fort Collins this past weekend. Coach Ellie will provide a recap of the FAST meet on Thursday.
Jeffco February Finale Meet - Entries DUE TONIGHT

Signups are open NOW and will close TONIGHT (Monday, January 24, 2022). This is the last chance meet to get any championship qualifying times for all swimmers.
If you have already signed your swimmers up, please double check their entries. There have been platform issues with our provider. If you are having an issue pulling your swimmer’s entry form up, please just stop clicking and wait for a moment. There can be up to a 90 second delay in loading your swimmer’s information.
CSI Senior (15 & Over) State Meet Qualifying Times
Location: University of Denver, El Pomar Natatorium
Meet: February 18 – 20, 2022 (Friday – Sunday)

Sign ups are open for the Colorado Senior State Meet! Please go to the event page HERE.
All senior state events that a 15& Over swimmer has already qualified for must be entered for submission no later than Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022 (this is an Aspire deadline and subject to change). Last Chance Exception: Any new qualifying state times earned at an approved Colorado Last Chance meet (e.g., Jeffco February Finale Feb. 11 – 13) will be added via team submission on Feb. 15. Last Chance Exception only applies to swimmers who have not previously qualified in that event. No previous times will be adjusted.
